Entering Uncharted Territories: Alone

Uncharted 3:  Drake's Deception is the third game in the Uncharted series.  It was released on the first of November in 2011.  The game is a third-person shooter that is packed with adventure.  Not only does this game have a cinematic single-player but it also has a very rich multiplayer experience.  My first impressions of this game was that it was going to be entertaining due to the fact that the first chapter in the game consisted of much humour.  In the first chapter you're introduced to the main protagonists and antagonists of the game; Drake, Sully, Talbot and Marlowe.  After the first chapter you play as young Drake which gives you the story of how Drake and Sully (Drake's best friend) met.  The beginning of the game is pretty easy but as the game progresses it seems to get more challenging in certain chapters.  Like the other Uncharted games, treasure hunting still plays a vital role in the game. Unlike, the other Uncharted games you don't see as much of any other side-characters and the main focus is on the relationship between Drake and Sully.  In conclusion, I would recommend this game for anyone that is looking for a fun cinematic experience, the graphics are amazing and the game-play is thrilling which has managed to keep me coming back to the series over and over again.

  1. A good read, it generalized what Uncharted 3 is about. I've played the game and it's multiplayer. I loved it aswell, but I notice a few problems like this is the only Uncharted game that didn't support single-player skins. What was the most disappointing thing about this game for you?

  2. The most disappointing thing about the game would have to be just how long the single-player game-play was. The other Uncharted games seemed a bit longer. However they did explain that it was due to a voice actor leaving half-way through the game so they had to delete some of his scenes. Another thing is the ending, and the fact that there's less boss fights. I found that the ending was Anti-climatic and that it could have been done better.

  3. I'm not much of a gamer (to be honest I'm not really even sure how to turn on my brother's PlayStation), but the way you described this game actually piqued my interest. The fact that it's more than just a shooter game, and that it actually has a story line is intruiguing and I love the idea of treasure hunting :) Would this game be one that you could just start playing mid-series, or is it one where you kind of have to start from the beginning?

  4. The whole series is really well-known for their story-line which is something that interested me in the games too. Since all three of the games have pretty different story lines you could honestly start from any game that you'd want to. Personally, I only started the first one before going to the second one so I never got a grasp of what happened in the first one, but it didn't matter because I still knew what was going on throughout the second and third game.

  5. Nice concise description of the game. Maybe you could describe what some of the terms mean? Such as third-person shooter.

  6. Thanks for the tip. If anyone doesn't know third person usually relates to a 3D, shooter game where the whole character is visible. So compared to a first-person shooter in which you're looking through the perspective of your character. However, in third-person you tend to be able to see the area around you as well, and typically your whole character.
